How to Recover MetaMask Account

Use your 12 or 24-word phrase. The Secret Recovery Phrase is always the best way to regain access, even if you don't remember your password. "If you have your 12 or 24 word seed phrase, you don't need the password at all. Just restore the wallet."

Check offline storage. Look for your SRP in old notebooks, physical notes, or anywhere you might have written it down, as this is the fastest and cheapest recovery path. "Best practice is to write your recovery phrase down with pen and paper, and store it in a safe place offline!"

Avoid digital storage of your SRP. Taking a screenshot of your SRP or storing it digitally is risky because cloud backups can be compromised. "Screenshots sync to cloud backups automatically on most phones. If your cloud storage gets compromised, your wallet is gone."

Password recovery is difficult but possible. If you remember most of your password or the general structure, there's a reasonable chance of cracking it through professional recovery services. "You remember most of the password but not sure about a few characters - very good chances, hours to days"

If MetaMask is still installed on an old computer where the wallet was last used, you might be able to recover it using a vault decryptor, but this is not possible if other wallets have been used since.
