Top Crypto Trading Platforms: Kraken, Coinbase, Binance
Top crypto trading platforms

Users most frequently recommend Kraken as the top crypto trading platform for its balance of features, low fees, and customer support. Coinbase is often cited as the best option for beginners despite its higher fees, while Binance is praised for having the best liquidity and competitive fees.
Kraken Pro is favored for advanced charting and transparent fees, though account registration can sometimes be slow. Binance offers a wide range of trading pairs and is often recommended for users outside the US due to its liquidity and decent fees.
For decentralized trading, Hyperliquid offers no KYC and self-custody using an order book. River and Strike are strong Bitcoin-only options, with River allowing free scheduled recurring buys. Users stress the importance of understanding fee structures to avoid surprises, as some platforms like Crypto.com charge high spreads on cash-outs.
Many users prioritize self-custody for long-term holding, advising against keeping large amounts of crypto on exchanges. They suggest moving assets to a cold wallet after purchase, treating exchanges primarily as entry and exit points rather than storage solutions.

I’ve been trying to figure out which crypto exchanges actually make sense for US users right now.
There are a lot of options, and it’s honestly a bit confusing when you’re just trying to understand what works best in real life.
Some platforms seem very easy to use but maybe more expensive, while others look more advanced but harder to get into.
So I’m curious — what are you personally using and what made you choose it?
More in a long-term perspective, not really focused on active trading.
Recently I started to test stuff with small amounts, usually around $50 to $100 at a time so I don’t do anything too dumb.
I started with BTC, looked at a few alts after that, and one thing I keep running into is that choosing an exchange feels way harder than actually buying crypto. Some look simple at first, but then the fees feel high, the layout gets confusing, or there are just way too many features for someone starting out.
So for people who were in that beginner stage not long ago, what crypto exchange actually felt easiest to learn on? I’m not trying to trade hard or do anything advanced yet. Just want something simple, low-stress, and not brutal on small buys.
Most opinions tend to be a bit biased on Users, you can check Tokyniq, their website literally compares the best crypto exchanges, especially no-KYC ones, which are better for privacy.
There are many exchange platforms out there and I would like to ask from y’all’s experience. What’s the best crypto exchange platform to use?
Im searching for exchanges with low and no hidden fees (spread) with a wide variety of crypto coins available to invest in the U.S. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance
There's no perfect exchange and it really depends on what you value, but Zykur is one of the platforms that often comes up when people want fewer surprises on fees, just straightforward trading with a decent range of coins
Kraken pro. I'll never use coinbase again, too many times they locked my account limit or stopped my transactions and gave me an infinite loop of canned responses in customer support despite years of transaction history.
I am somewhat new to crypto. I used it back in the early days to buy stuff online but haven’t been back to it in years. I’m wondering what’s the best trading platform with the least amount of fees? Coinbase seems to have so many fees it doesn’t seem worth it imo, is there a better platform with less fees. I don’t trade much but I’m trying to start small and build up, which is hard when Coinbase takes such high percentages and such high fees. Again I’m new here so please just friendly advice as this may be a question frequently asked.
Not sure if you are looking for a DEX or a CEX, but I believe Zykur can be useful for both cases
am trying to use a good trading platform. I know there’s many of them that are scams. That’s why am trying to be careful on what am using. Thanks
If privacy is your top priority, I would go with Tokyniq, their website compares some of the best no-KYC crypto exchanges, both centralized and decentralized (CEX and Perp DEX).
I'm sure threads like this are everywhere on here but....I choose kraken pro.
Not just based on one thing, but the overall package.
Things like payout speed, reputation, trading conditions, available pairs, support, platform quality, and how reliable the firm has been over time.
I'm curious which firms traders would rank highest when taking everything into account, not just who has the cheapest challenge or biggest account sizes.
What are your top 3 crypto prop firms right now, and why?
I had a coinbase account that was compromised so now i cant get back in unfortunately. I just made a kraken and crypto. Com account , i know there is loads of different platforms , so what are good ones when it comes to security? And also for fees and ease of use?
I buy my bitcoin from Cash App,every 1k I transfer to cold storage
I was in the same situation when I started. I thought learning about crypto would be the hard part, but choosing a platform ended up taking way more time than I expected. every option seemed to have a different fee structure, a different interface and a bunch of features that felt overwhelming when all I wanted to do was make a small purchase and learn the basics.
what helped me was finding a platform that didn't make me feel like I needed to become a full time trader just to buy a little BTC. I started with small amounts too and focused on understanding wallets, transactions and how the market worked instead of chasing gains. nexo was one of the platforms that felt approachable to me because I could learn at my own pace without feeling buried under a ton of advanced trading tools right away.
my advice would be to keep doing exactly what you're doing and stick to small amounts while you're learning. the best platform for a beginner isn't necessarily the one with the most features, it's the one you'll actually feel comfortable using consistently. once you understand the fundamentals, you can always explore more advanced options later, but there's no rush to get there.
If you're in the US and thinking long-term, most people still end up using Coinbase or Kraken for simplicity and compliance.
But honestly, exchanges are just entry/exit points.
What matters more is what you do after — self-custody, moving funds, and actual usage.
Right now the biggest gap isn’t exchanges, it’s real-world use cases. Buying is easy, but actually spending or using crypto in everyday situations is still limited.
That’s where the space still needs to evolve.
This has been really helpful, thanks everyone.
The pattern I’m seeing is pretty clear now:
- Coinbase = easiest starting point
- Kraken = better once fees matter more
- River / Strike = strong if you’re Bitcoin-only
- Cash App = simple but limits can be annoying
- Long term = don’t just leave everything on the exchange
I think the biggest thing I’m taking from this is that the exchange is mostly the on-ramp, not the final storage solution.
For long-term holding, I’m leaning toward starting simple, testing small withdrawals, then moving to self-custody once the amount actually matters.
Does that sound like the right order of priorities?
Hyperliquid, its decentralized perp and spot dex (wich uses orderbook), its no kyc and self custody (meaning your funds stay in your wallet). Just type Hyperliquid in youtube and you will get many videos how to use it.
As title says i am looking for the best low fee platform. I wanna buy btc for abt 10k and i want to be ready when market drops further. I will only buy btc , set it and forget. I m not an active trader.
I have robinhood but it charges 0.95% fee which is a lot.
Please advise what is the best platform to buy btc. Thank you in advance
I’ve tried a few platforms over time, but I’ve mostly stuck with Delta Exchange. I got into it while exploring future and options trading, and it felt more suited for that compared to basic crypto trading apps I had used earlier. Took a bit of time to get comfortable with it, but once I did, the flow felt pretty straightforward.
For me it’s been consistent enough for regular use, especially for crypto trading and managing positions without constantly switching platforms. I still keep things small and steady, but it’s worked well as part of my longer-term setup.
Kraken is one of the best exchanges out there. Gives you good spot prices and low fees.
Think about combining your exchange with a dca bot to stack on autopilot.
